Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Liverpool. This role will involve working directly with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges including mental health issues, substance misuse, homelessness, and domestic abuse. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and advocating for the needs of your clients. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals within the community. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and collaborative team with regular supervision and professional development opportunities. The work is challenging and rewarding, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a resilient and proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work closely with other professionals, including health care workers, housing providers and voluntary organisations. Caseloads are manageable and we are committed to providing a supportive working environment to reduce professional burnout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of service users' needs
  • Developing and implementing individual care plans
  • Providing support and guidance to service users
  • Advocating for the needs of service users
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Participating in regular supervision and professional development activities
  • Engaging in ongoing case reviews to monitor progress and adapt care plans.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy frameworks
  • Experience in conducting assessments and developing care plans
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults
  • Ability to manage caseloads effectively
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Social Work degree (BA/BSc)
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience working in a local authority setting
  • Post-qualifying training in relevant areas (e.g., mental health, substance misuse)
  • Experience using electronic social care systems
