Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our construction team in the bustling Fiddyment Farm developments of Roseville, CA. As a Carpenter with Taylor Morrison, you will be instrumental in bringing our award-winning home designs to life, working on new residential construction projects from the ground up. This role demands precision, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of carpentry principles and building codes. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from initial framing and structural work to intricate finish carpentry, ensuring every detail meets our rigorous quality standards. You will work closely with site superintendents, project managers, and other trades to maintain construction schedules, uphold safety protocols, and deliver exceptional homes on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Execute all phases of carpentry work, including rough framing, structural construction, subflooring, wall erection, and roof framing.
- Perform finish carpentry tasks such as installing doors, windows, cabinets, trim, baseboards, crown molding, and other decorative elements.
- Accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure precise and compliant work.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and Taylor Morrison's quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople, subcontractors, and construction site personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Identify and resolve issues and discrepancies on-site in a timely and efficient manner.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Journeyman Carpenter in residential construction.
- Proficiency in all aspects of rough and finish carpentry techniques.
- Expertise in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively (e.g., saws, drills, routers, nail guns).
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and architectural drawings.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, construction methods, and safety procedures.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength, capable of lifting heavy materials and performing strenuous tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Advanced carpentry certifications or vocational training.
- Experience with sustainable building practices or energy-efficient construction.
- Prior experience working on large-scale residential development projects.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior carpenters or apprentices.
- Forklift operation certification.
