Job Description
Masimba Holdings Limited is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team in Harare. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our diverse building projects, ranging from commercial structures and residential developments to essential infrastructure. We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in carpentry techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials according to measurements.
- Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures such as foundations, walls, roofs, window frames, door frames, staircases, and partitions.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and formwork for concrete pours.
- Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, locks, and closures.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Work with various materials including wood, drywall, and other composite materials.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, and other tradespersons.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Strong understanding of safety guidelines and practices on a construction site.
- Excellent physical condition and dexterity.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certificate or diploma in Carpentry.
- Experience with concrete formwork and shuttering.
- Familiarity with green building practices and sustainable construction materials.
- Valid driver's license.
