Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units accurately to construct walls, partitions, and other structures.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure and cut materials to required sizes using hand and power tools.
- Mix mortar and other compounds according to specifications.
- Ensure all work is plumb, level, and true, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations on site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and site management.
- Inspect and repair existing masonry structures as required.
- Estimate material requirements and communicate needs to site management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer in construction.
- Proficiency in various bricklaying techniques (e.g., Flemish bond, English bond).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction site health and safety procedures.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail and precision in all work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possession of relevant CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Trowel Occupations (Bricklaying) or equivalent.
- Full UK driving license with own transport.
- Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
- First Aid certification (desirable but not essential).
- Proof of relevant qualifications and certifications.
