Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Monitor oven temperatures, proofing times, and baking processes to ensure consistent quality and product perfection.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper rotation to minimize waste.
- Decorate and finish cakes and pastries attractively, maintaining high aesthetic standards for all products.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work station and equipment.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and dividers safely and efficiently.
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries, verifying product quality and quantity.
- Collaborate with the bakery team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones, contributing to a diverse and appealing product range.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Baker in a retail or commercial bakery setting.
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation principles (HACCP or similar).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality, delicious baked goods.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of ingredients, and work in varying temperatures.
