Job Description
Boland Park Security is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and dedicated Security Supervisor to lead our operational teams in Malmesbury, Western Cape. As a Security Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective deployment and performance of our security officers, maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for our clients’ premises. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing guidance and support to your team, and acting as the primary point of contact for clients on-site. This role demands a proactive approach to security management, excellent leadership qualities, and the ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to incidents. You will be instrumental in fostering a disciplined yet supportive work environment, conducting regular patrols, inspections, and preparing detailed reports. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, motivate, and train a team of security officers, ensuring adherence to company policies and client protocols.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of client sites to ensure security measures are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, taking appropriate action and escalating as necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive daily reports, incident reports, and other documentation as required, maintaining accurate records.
- Liaise directly with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with security services.
- Monitor and manage staff rostering, attendance, and performance, including conducting performance reviews.
- Ensure all security equipment is in good working order and report any malfunctions or defects immediately.
- Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, PSIRA standards, and all relevant legislation.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior security personnel.
- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific security plans and procedures, adapting to changing security landscapes.
Required Skills
- Valid PSIRA Grade A or B registration.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a security role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Afrikaans an advantage).
- Proficient in incident reporting and basic administrative tasks.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Valid South African driver's license and own reliable transport.
- Clean criminal record.
- Proficiency in using security monitoring equipment (CCTV, access control systems).
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and Firefighting certificates.
- Knowledge of control room operations.
- Further security-related certifications or diplomas.
- Experience with security software and report management systems.
- Previous experience in a diverse operational environment (e.g., commercial, industrial, residential).
