Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, thorough patrols of the retail mall premises, including common areas, parking lots, and restricted access zones.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding to suspicious activities or security breaches promptly.
- Enforce mall policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for all visitors and tenants.
- Respond effectively to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, disturbances, or power outages, coordinating with relevant authorities as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with directions, lost and found inquiries, and other general assistance.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with mall management, retail store employees, and local law enforcement to address security concerns.
- Manage crowd control during peak hours, special events, or emergencies.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security, preferably within a retail or commercial setting.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure and during emergencies.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and first aid.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English.
