Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the retail premises, both internal and external, during night hours.
- Monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) to detect and prevent security breaches, suspicious activities, or potential threats.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access to the property and assets.
- Ensure all entry and exit points are secured, and report any irregularities immediately.
- Maintain detailed daily logs and incident reports, accurately documenting all security-related activities and observations.
- Collaborate with emergency services (police, fire department) as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents and provide clear, concise reports.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and relevant security regulations.
- Provide assistance and support to night staff or authorized personnel as required, ensuring their safety.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Officer, preferably in a retail or commercial setting.
- Valid PSIRA Grade C (or higher) registration.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in monitoring CCTV and alarm systems.
- Knowledge of basic security procedures and protocols.
- Physical fitness to perform regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Clean criminal record.
- Valid driver's license (advantageous but not strictly mandatory).
