We are actively seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team, specifically for night shift warehouse patrol duties on Lagos Island. This critical role involves ensuring the comprehensive security of a designated warehouse facility and its valuable contents during overnight hours. As a night shift security guard, you will be the frontline defender against unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, documented patrols of the warehouse interior, exterior perimeter, parking lots, and loading docks during assigned night shifts.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment for any signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials for all individuals and vehicles entering or exiting the premises during the night.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches, following established protocols.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports for all security-related occurrences, including trespassers, theft attempts, property damage, and safety hazards.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are properly secured throughout the night.
- Implement and enforce company security policies and procedures to safeguard assets and personnel.
- Assist with initial first aid response in case of injuries or medical emergencies.
- Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services as required.
- Perform light checks and ensure proper functioning of security lighting systems.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter potential criminal activity.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience in security operations, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with consistent punctuality.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting incidents.
- Basic computer literacy for operating surveillance systems and preparing reports.
