Job Description
Justrite Superstore is actively seeking a diligent, proactive, and highly observant Security Guard to join our dedicated team in the bustling Shasha, Alimosho area. This pivotal role involves maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment for all our esteemed customers, valued staff, and valuable store assets within our dynamic retail premises. As a Security Guard, you will serve as the primary deterrent against potential theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and any other security breaches, playing an indispensable role in loss prevention and ensuring a consistently pleasant and secure shopping experience for everyone. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough and regular patrols of the entire store, diligently monitoring advanced surveillance equipment, and responding swiftly, calmly, and effectively to any security incidents, emergencies, or disturbances that may arise.
This position operates on a structured shift rotation basis, which necessitates a strong degree of flexibility and unwavering commitment to working various hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to guarantee comprehensive and continuous security coverage for the store at all times. You will be expected to collaborate closely with store management and fellow staff members, ensuring the rigorous implementation of all security protocols, and actively contributing to a robust, proactive safety and security culture within the establishment. A crucial aspect of this role involves frequent customer interaction; while your paramount duty remains security, you will also be a visible and approachable presence, offering courteous assistance, providing clear directions, and professionally de-escalating potential conflicts with utmost tact and discretion. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the store premises, both indoor and outdoor, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, theft, or damage.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to alerts and suspicious activities.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure customer and staff safety.
- Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational readiness.
- Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security breaches, following established protocols.
- Escort staff and customers to ensure safety, particularly during opening and closing hours.
- Document and report all security incidents, irregularities, and suspicious occurrences.
- Assist customers with directions and information, providing excellent customer service.
- Enforce store policies and procedures with professionalism and respect.
- Collaborate with store management to implement and improve security measures.
- Manage access control for staff and external vendors as per company policy.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or relevant position.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to operate security equipment and surveillance systems.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
