Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the residential estate's perimeter, common areas, and facilities to detect and prevent unauthorized activities or security breaches.
- Monitor and operate surveillance cameras (CCTV) and alarm systems, responding promptly and appropriately to any alerts or suspicious observations.
- Manage and control all access points, meticulously verifying the identities of all visitors, contractors, and residents, while maintaining accurate and detailed visitor logs.
- Enforce all established estate rules and regulations, ensuring compliance by residents, guests, and service providers.
- Respond effectively and promptly to all emergency situations, including but not limited to medical emergencies, fire alarms, security breaches, and natural disasters, coordinating seamlessly with relevant emergency authorities as necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive and detailed daily reports on all security activities, observed incidents, and any significant observations.
- Provide courteous assistance and professional guidance to residents as required, maintaining a helpful and approachable demeanor.
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of all security equipment, lighting, and property infrastructure, reporting any malfunctions, damages, or potential hazards.
- Maintain a strong, visible security presence throughout the estate to deter criminal activity and ensure a persistently secure environment.
- Collaborate effectively with estate management, fellow security personnel, and local law enforcement to continuously enhance and implement overall security measures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard, with a minimum of 1 year, preferably in a residential or corporate security setting.
- Exceptional observational skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment (CCTV) and basic security alarm systems.
- Demonstrated physical fitness and stamina to perform duties, including extended periods of standing, walking, and potential rapid response.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Unquestionable integrity, honesty, and a consistently professional demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as a valued member of a team.
- Valid identification and a verifiable clean criminal record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) license or an equivalent recognized security certification.
- Previous experience working within a gated community, high-end residential estate, or a similar private property environment.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications for accurate report writing and efficient data entry.
- Ability to communicate effectively in multiple local languages prevalent in Lagos (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa).
- Documented experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
