As a Security Guard focusing on patrol services, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, playing a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their assets. Your primary responsibility will involve conducting regular patrols, both on foot and potentially by vehicle, across assigned premises to deter unauthorized activities, detect potential threats, and respond to incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas to ensure the security of premises.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarm systems, reporting any irregularities or suspicious activities.
- Control access to buildings and sites, verifying credentials and managing visitor logs.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities during shifts accurately and thoroughly.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with security regulations.
- Deter theft, vandalism, and other illegal activities.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to clients, employees, and visitors.
- Collaborate with team members and local authorities when necessary to resolve security issues.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
Required Skills
- No prior security experience required (full training provided)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in Kinyarwanda and/or English
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform duties including walking, standing for extended periods, and responding to emergencies
- High level of integrity, honesty, and reliability
- Good judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new security protocols and technologies
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Clean criminal record and background check eligibility
- Minimum age of 18 years
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education (High School Diploma or equivalent)
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures (training will be provided if not possessed)
- Valid driving license (Category B) for vehicle patrol duties where applicable
- Previous experience in customer service or roles requiring public interaction
