Job Description

This role is crucial for fostering a safe, positive, and enjoyable lunchtime experience for children within a vibrant school setting in Leamington Spa. As a School Lunchtime Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing pupils during the lunch break, both in the dining hall and on the playground. Your presence and proactive engagement will contribute significantly to the children’s well-being, promoting good behaviour, healthy eating habits, and positive social interactions.

You will be expected to supervise children with varying needs and ages, ensuring their safety is paramount. This includes monitoring their conduct, resolving minor disputes, and providing first aid as necessary (after appropriate training). Beyond supervision, this role offers the chance to engage with children through play, encouraging outdoor activities, and supporting them during meal times. You’ll be a visible, approachable, and reassuring adult presence, helping to bridge the gap between classroom learning and recreational time.

The ideal candidate will possess a calm and patient demeanour, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children. This is more than just a supervisory role; it’s an opportunity to positively influence young lives, encouraging respect, kindness, and responsibility. You will work closely with school staff, including teachers and teaching assistants, to maintain consistent behavioural expectations and contribute to a nurturing school atmosphere.
