As a School Bus Driver, you will be a crucial link in our community, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and school-related activities. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and authorized events according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical soundness and cleanliness.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, school bus safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain discipline among passengers and handle student behavioral issues according to established guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and dispatch regarding schedules, delays, and student conduct.
- Complete and submit required reports, including mileage, time, and incident reports.
- Ensure the bus is clean and organized, both interior and exterior.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions as required.
Required Skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older (for CDL licensing requirements).
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C or higher).
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and DOT physical examination.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility for student welfare.
- Ability to work split shifts (mornings and afternoons).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or in a customer service role.
- Current CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (we will provide training if not current).
- Familiarity with San Francisco area roads and school locations.
