Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a highly dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our dynamic team in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. This critical role is essential for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors across our diverse operational sites. As a Safety Officer, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and rigorously monitoring our comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management systems, ensuring full compliance with all relevant local regulations, international best practices, and stringent company policies. You will be responsible for fostering a proactive and vigilant safety culture throughout the organization, extending from initial project planning to daily operational activities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Deliver comprehensive safety training programs to employees and contractors on various HSE topics.
- Ensure all safety documentation, records, and reports are accurately maintained and readily accessible.
- Advise management on best practices for health, safety, and environmental management.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety into all operational aspects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of local HSE regulations (e.g., OSHAD) and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
- Strong capabilities in risk assessment, hazard identification, and control measures.
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and reporting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA or IOSH certifications.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certifications.
- Experience in facilities management, construction, or industrial sectors in the UAE.
- Bilingual proficiency (Arabic and English).
