Your day will involve assisting with the preparation of work sites, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the site remains clean and organized. You’ll learn the fundamentals of different roofing systems, from asphalt shingles to metal roofing, and understand the importance of quality craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced roofers in all aspects of roofing installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Load, unload, and transport roofing materials such as shingles, tiles, insulation, and tools to and from the worksite.
- Prepare work areas by setting up ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment.
- Perform general cleanup of the worksite, including debris removal and proper disposal of waste materials.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Support the team in stripping old roofing materials and preparing surfaces for new installations.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and senior team members diligently and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 25kg), bending, climbing, and working at heights.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to showing up on time and ready to work.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions effectively.
- Basic understanding and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to take direction.
