Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace various roofing systems including asphalt shingles, metal, and flat roofs on residential and commercial properties.
- Perform meticulous tear-offs, remove old roofing materials, and prepare roof surfaces for new installations.
- Apply roofing materials, ensuring proper alignment, sealing, and weatherproofing according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough roof inspections, identify damage, leaks, and potential issues, and provide accurate assessments for repair or replacement.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, company policies, and OSHA regulations on every job site to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively, including nail guns, hammers, pry bars, and other specialized roofing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, cleaning up debris and waste materials daily.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed, providing updates and addressing concerns professionally.
- Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of less experienced crew members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience in roofing installation and repair (residential or commercial).
- Proficiency with various roofing materials and application techniques (e.g., asphalt shingles, EPDM, TPO, metal).
- Strong understanding of roofing safety protocols, fall protection, and best practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs), climbing ladders, and working at heights for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation to and from various job sites in the Covington, KY area and surrounding regions.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with commercial roofing systems and flat roof applications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
