TCS is looking for a dedicated and resilient Roadside Tire Repairer to join our dynamic team in Zurich. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our members facing tire-related emergencies on the roads of Switzerland. From flat tires and punctures to more complex tire damages, you will diagnose issues, perform expert repairs, and replace tires quickly and efficiently, ensuring our members can continue their journeys with minimal disruption. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and efficiently to roadside assistance calls, particularly those related to tire malfunctions.
- Diagnose tire issues accurately, including punctures, blowouts, and valve problems, for various vehicle types.
- Perform on-the-spot tire repairs (e.g., plugging, patching) or complete tire replacements using specialized tools and equipment.
- Ensure the safe operation of all tools and equipment, adhering strictly to TCS safety protocols and road safety regulations.
- Provide clear, professional, and empathetic communication to members, explaining issues and repair options.
- Offer advice on tire maintenance, safety, and future preventive measures.
- Manage and maintain a fully equipped service vehicle, ensuring it is always stocked, clean, and in excellent working order.
- Complete necessary documentation and reporting for each service call.
- Collaborate effectively with the dispatch center and other TCS team members to optimize service delivery.
- Represent TCS with professionalism and uphold our reputation for excellence in roadside assistance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in tire repair and replacement, including familiarity with various tire types and wheel systems.
- Valid Swiss driving license (Category B minimum); C1/C preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including lifting heavy objects.
- Proficiency in German (verbal and written) is essential for effective communication in the Zurich region.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or apprenticeship as a car mechanic, automotive technician, or similar field.
- Previous experience in roadside assistance or emergency services.
- Certifications in tire service or automotive repair.
- Knowledge of other Swiss national languages (French, Italian) is a plus.
