Farmers Insurance Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, California. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities across business operations, financial processes, and technology infrastructure.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance quantitative risk models using various statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify risk trends, patterns, and correlations, providing actionable insights to management.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal stakeholders, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Finance, IT) to implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with risk policies.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk limits, alerting management to potential breaches or emerging risks.
  • Participate in the development and review of enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risk methodologies.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of risk management training and awareness programs across the organization.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a risk analysis, financial analysis, or data analysis role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VBA) and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw sound conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM).
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks (e.g., ERM, Solvency II).
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
