Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, card, and mobile payments.
- Handle cash and change meticulously, ensuring proper accountability at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent, friendly customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues professionally.
- Scan products, apply discounts, and manage returns/exchanges in accordance with store policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring shopping bags and necessary supplies are readily available.
- Assist with shelving and stocking products, ensuring product displays are tidy and well-presented when required.
- Monitor security procedures at the checkout, reporting suspicious activities or potential shoplifting to management.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding product availability, pricing discrepancies, or customer feedback.
- Stay updated on current promotions, product knowledge, and store policies to better assist customers.
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling and operating a POS system.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (Kinyarwanda and English preferred).
