Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to tables, and present menus.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, using a POS system where applicable.
- Provide detailed information about menu items, daily specials, and beverage selections.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, anticipating and responding to needs throughout their meal.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including table setup and clearing.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Good understanding of food and beverage service standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Knowledge of local food and beverage offerings.
- Ability to speak Afrikaans or other additional languages relevant to the local clientele.
- Valid Food Handler's Permit or willingness to obtain one.
