Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Restaurant Supervisor to oversee both kitchen and dining operations for a dynamic establishment located in Isheri, Lagos. This crucial role requires a hands-on leader who can seamlessly bridge the gap between back-of-house efficiency and front-of-house excellence, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for every guest. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing staff, maintaining high standards of food quality and service, optimizing operational workflows, and resolving any issues that may arise with professionalism and poise. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of both kitchen and dining areas, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional service.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff (chefs, cooks, waiters, bartenders) to maintain high performance and productivity standards.
  • Monitor food preparation, presentation, and quality to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Oversee dining room service, ensuring guests are greeted promptly, served efficiently, and their needs are met with professionalism.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs, minimizing waste while maintaining optimal stock levels for both kitchen and bar.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and courteously to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Schedule staff shifts, approve time off, and manage payroll inputs in coordination with HR.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Assist in menu development and special event planning, contributing creative ideas for an enhanced guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Generate daily and weekly reports on sales, inventory, and operational performance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality industry (minimum 4 years).
  • Strong understanding of both kitchen operations (food prep, cooking techniques, hygiene) and dining service (customer relations, order taking, table service).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse team effectively and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP principles preferred).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer-centric approach with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience with restaurant management software (e.g., POS systems, inventory management tools).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of local Nigerian cuisine and international dishes.
