Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery from opening to closing, maintaining consistency and excellence.
- Lead, train, coach, and mentor a diverse team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff, fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
- Manage staff scheduling, conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and address disciplinary actions effectively and fairly.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by proactively addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally, and continually seeking innovative ways to enhance the overall dining experience.
- Monitor and manage inventory comprehensively, including efficient ordering of supplies, rigorous waste control, and ensuring proper stock rotation and storage.
- Oversee all financial aspects such as accurate cash handling, meticulous daily sales reports, and stringent cost control measures to achieve and exceed profitability targets.
- Maintain strict compliance with all local and national health, safety, and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and guests.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure menu quality, consistency, and presentation standards are consistently met and often exceeded.
- Implement effective marketing and promotional strategies to attract new customers and foster loyalty among our existing clientele.
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of the restaurant premises to ensure impeccable cleanliness, optimal organization, and strict adherence to brand standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in a high-volume restaurant or upscale hospitality setting.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team to achieve operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of full-service restaurant operations, including front-of-house, kitchen, and bar management.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software (POS systems like Micros, Aloha, or similar; inventory management systems).
- Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, P&L management, and sales forecasting.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Kinyarwanda is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with local Rwandan culinary traditions, ingredient sourcing, and supplier relations.
- Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction scores.
- Current First Aid and internationally recognized Food Safety certifications.
