Job Description
We are seeking a highly vigilant, skilled, and dedicated Resort Lifeguard to join our esteemed team at Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all our guests utilizing the resort’s aquatic facilities, including our expansive swimming pools and the private beach area. As a Resort Lifeguard, you will be the frontline guardian, continuously monitoring pool and beach activities, proactively identifying potential hazards, and responding swiftly and effectively to any emergencies. Your presence will provide guests with peace of mind, allowing them to fully enjoy our beautiful coastal setting. Beyond emergency response, you will play a key role in promoting water safety awareness, enforcing resort policies, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires an individual who is not only a certified expert in life-saving techniques but also possesses strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor all assigned aquatic areas, including swimming pools and sections of the private beach, for the safety of guests.
- Proactively identify potential hazards and take immediate corrective actions to prevent accidents.
- Enforce all swimming pool and beach rules and regulations to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Administer emergency first aid, CPR, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) when necessary, and perform water rescues as required.
- Educate guests on water safety practices and the proper use of aquatic equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of lifeguard stations, equipment, and surrounding pool/beach areas.
- Regularly inspect rescue equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition and readily accessible.
- Attend all mandatory in-service training sessions and maintain current certifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and offering assistance courteously.
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborate effectively with other resort departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Required Skills
- Valid Lifeguard Certification (e.g., ILS, STA, American Red Cross, or equivalent recognized international body).
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED Certification.
- Exceptional swimming proficiency and physical fitness.
- Acute observational skills and quick decision-making ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
- Experience with diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
- Additional language proficiency, especially Arabic or Russian, is a plus.
- Previous customer service experience.
