Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Resort Activities Coordinator to join our vibrant team at A Forever Resort – Badplaas. This pivotal role is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing a diverse range of recreational activities and entertainment programs for our guests of all ages. From adventurous outdoor pursuits to engaging indoor games and evening entertainment, you will be the creative force behind much of our guest’s enjoyment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement a diverse schedule of daily, weekly, and special event activities for guests of all ages (children, teens, adults, families).
- Lead and supervise various recreational activities, including but not limited to games, sports, crafts, nature walks, fitness classes, and evening entertainment.
- Manage activity equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained, safe, and readily available for use.
- Promote activities effectively through various channels (e.g., notice boards, social media, direct interaction) to maximize guest participation.
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, gathering feedback to continuously improve activity offerings.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of activity assistants or volunteers as needed.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other resort departments (e.g., F&B, Front Office, Maintenance) to ensure seamless execution of events and guest satisfaction.
- Prepare activity schedules, budgets, and post-event reports.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity area.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a recreation, hospitality, or entertainment role, preferably within a resort or hotel setting.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute successful events and activities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, engaging personality.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Recreation Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
- Experience with children's programs and family entertainment.
- Knowledge of local attractions and recreational opportunities in Mpumalanga.
- Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., Zulu, Sotho, Afrikaans) is an advantage.
- Lifeguard certification.
