We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our innovative Biotechnology R&D team in San Jose, CA. As a Research Associate, you will play a crucial role in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments aimed at developing cutting-edge biological assays and products. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry experiments under general supervision.
- Perform various laboratory techniques including but not limited to PCR, qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA, cell culture, and nucleic acid extraction.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings clearly and concisely to the team.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks, experimental records, and databases.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new assays and experimental protocols.
- Troubleshoot experimental challenges and propose solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and project managers.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related scientific field.
- 1.5+ years (18+ months) of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in an industry setting.
- Proficiency in standard molecular and cell biology techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-throughput screening or automation platforms.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental design (DOE).
- Understanding of GMP/GLP regulations and quality control processes.
- Experience in product development within the life science industry.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis.
