Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves the end-to-end management and execution of renewable energy projects, from conception through commissioning. As a Renewable Energy Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in expanding our portfolio of sustainable energy solutions across the Philippines. Your expertise will be critical in designing, developing, and overseeing the construction of utility-scale solar, wind, and hydropower facilities, as well as exploring emerging renewable technologies.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects adhere to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance, while also meeting budget and schedule objectives. This role demands a strong technical background in renewable energy systems, excellent project management capabilities, and a keen eye for optimizing operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations, as well as external stakeholders such as contractors, suppliers, government agencies, and local communities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, execution, and monitoring of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal) from inception to completion.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and due diligence for potential project sites, evaluating technical and economic viability.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
- Manage project contractors, consultants, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Oversee the engineering design process, including reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and calculations for renewable energy systems.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local and national regulations, permits, and environmental standards.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, legal, and operations, to achieve project objectives.
- Participate in the commissioning and handover of completed projects to the operations team.
- Provide technical support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in renewable energy project development, engineering, or construction.
- Demonstrated experience with at least two major renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar PV, wind turbines, hydropower).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, electrical codes, and safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Valid professional engineering license (e.g., PEE, PME) in the Philippines is a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or Project Management.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with energy storage systems (e.g., battery storage) integration.
