Job Description

Sintech Engineering (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Remote Welding Design & Consulting Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned welding expert to leverage their deep technical knowledge and problem-solving skills in a fully remote capacity. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of our welding projects from a design and advisory perspective, contributing to projects across various industries including marine, industrial, power generation, and infrastructure development. Your contributions will directly impact the safety, reliability, and longevity of critical engineering components.

As our Remote Welding Design & Consulting Specialist, you will be instrumental in the virtual review and optimization of welding procedures, material specifications, and structural designs. This includes critically assessing weldment designs for constructability, cost-effectiveness, and code compliance. Your expertise will guide our project teams, ensuring strict adherence to international welding codes and standards such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, AWS Structural Welding Codes, and ISO standards for quality management in fusion welding. You will provide critical insights into complex welding challenges, recommend innovative solutions for material selection, joint design, and defect prevention, and actively contribute to the development of internal best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands exceptional analytical capabilities, a profound understanding of metallurgy, mechanical properties of materials, and the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly and concisely through virtual communication channels, reports, and presentations.

You will collaborate closely with project managers, design engineers, and fabrication teams, offering your specialized insights during initial design phases, detailed engineering, pre-fabrication planning, and post-production quality review. Your remote support will be vital for troubleshooting unexpected issues, performing root cause analyses for welding-related problems, and providing expert opinions on complex repair procedures. While this role is remote, your impact will be tangible and far-reaching, directly influencing the quality, safety, and success of our on-site fabrication and installation projects. We are looking for an individual who thrives on intellectual challenge, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is passionate about advancing welding excellence through remote technical leadership and strategic consultation. If you are a certified welding professional with extensive experience in design, metallurgy, and quality assurance, and you are seeking a flexible, impactful remote role where your expertise can shape critical engineering outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
