Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote veterinary consultations, diagnostics, and treatment recommendations for livestock and companion animals via telecommunication platforms.
- Provide expert technical support and advice on Afrivet products and services to internal teams, distributors, and clients.
- Develop and deliver remote training sessions and educational materials for clients and staff on various animal health topics.
- Assist in case management, offering second opinions and guidance on complex veterinary challenges.
- Contribute to the development and review of animal health protocols and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all remote consultations and client interactions.
- Collaborate with field veterinarians and sales teams to ensure integrated client support and service delivery.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, animal health, and tele-veterinary practices.
- Participate in virtual team meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and operational improvements.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification, registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
- Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification clinical experience in mixed practice (large and small animals preferred)
- Proficiency in remote communication tools and platforms (e.g., video conferencing, CRM software)
- Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills and client-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
- Valid driver's license (for potential, albeit limited, field visits or training if required, though primarily remote)
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification or specialization in animal production, epidemiology, or a related field
- Experience in tele-veterinary services or remote consultation
- Familiarity with agricultural practices and common animal diseases in the Free State region
- Proficiency in an additional South African official language (e.g., Afrikaans, Sesotho)
