Perfect Hideaways is seeking an experienced and proactive Remote Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness standards of our exclusive luxury properties in Knysna, Western Cape. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for remotely coordinating, supervising, and supporting our on-site housekeeping teams across multiple premium holiday homes and villas. Your day-to-day will involve developing and implementing robust quality control protocols, managing staff schedules, conducting virtual training sessions, and monitoring inventory, all while ensuring operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. You will be the central point of contact for all housekeeping-related matters, ensuring seamless communication between property managers, guests, and your team. Key Responsibilities
- Remotely oversee and coordinate all housekeeping operations for a portfolio of luxury properties in Knysna, Western Cape.
- Develop, implement, and monitor remote quality control checks and checklists to ensure properties meet Perfect Hideaways' exacting standards.
- Manage and optimise housekeeping staff schedules, assignments, and workload distribution using digital platforms.
- Conduct virtual team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to enhance staff skills and foster team cohesion.
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and amenities, coordinating procurement and delivery as needed.
- Serve as the primary remote point of contact for on-site housekeeping staff, addressing operational issues, queries, and challenges promptly.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all managed properties.
- Proactively identify and address potential cleanliness or maintenance concerns, collaborating with property managers and maintenance teams.
- Utilise property management software and communication tools for tracking tasks, reporting, and maintaining detailed records.
- Gather and analyse guest feedback pertaining to cleanliness, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new housekeeping personnel, providing remote guidance and support.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in housekeeping supervision, preferably within a luxury hospitality or property management setting.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate teams remotely, with excellent virtual communication skills (written and verbal).
- Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using property management software, scheduling tools, and remote collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards relevant to the hospitality industry.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport (for occasional site visits if required, though primarily remote).
