We are seeking an exceptionally motivated and experienced Remote Hotel General Manager to strategically oversee and enhance the operations of a designated portfolio of our luxury boutique properties within the Western Cape. While this role is primarily remote, requiring a high degree of self-discipline, digital proficiency, and virtual leadership, it demands a deep understanding of luxury hospitality and a commitment to maintaining our renowned standards across all managed locations. Key Responsibilities
- Strategically lead and oversee the remote management of assigned luxury hotel properties within the Western Cape portfolio, ensuring adherence to the Liz McGrath Collection’s brand standards and operational excellence.
- Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, revenue management strategies, cost control, and proactive sales and marketing initiatives, monitored remotely.
- Cultivate and empower high-performing, remotely distributed teams through virtual meetings, training, and performance management, fostering a culture of accountability and guest-centric service.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest experiences across all properties by implementing and monitoring service standards, guest feedback mechanisms, and quality assurance programs from a distance.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans, operational policies, and innovative projects to enhance property profitability and market positioning.
- Conduct regular virtual audits and analysis of operational data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain strong communication channels with on-site leadership teams, corporate stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring seamless information flow and alignment.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to continuously identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the portfolio.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience as a General Manager or a senior operational role within luxury hotels or boutique hospitality.
- Proven track record in remote team leadership and management, with excellent virtual communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Exceptional guest service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
- High proficiency in hospitality management software (PMS, POS, CRM) and advanced digital communication tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to travel periodically to properties within the Western Cape for on-site visits and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or Hospitality.
- Experience managing multiple properties or a regional portfolio within a luxury brand.
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the South African tourism market (e.g., Afrikaans, Xhosa).
