Are you a meticulous and tech-savvy individual with a strong understanding of grain management? AFGRI Operations is seeking a dedicated Remote Grain Silo Operator to join our dynamic team. In this innovative role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of multiple grain storage silos across our network, primarily through advanced remote monitoring and control systems. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to interpret data from various digital platforms to ensure optimal grain quality, safety, and inventory management. You will play a crucial role in preventing spoilage, managing inventory, and coordinating logistics, all from a central remote hub. While the primary mode of operation is remote, occasional site visits may be required for complex troubleshooting, system calibration, or training purposes, ensuring you remain connected to the physical assets you manage. Key Responsibilities
- Remotely monitor and control silo conditions, including temperature, moisture levels, aeration, and fumigation systems, using advanced SCADA and IoT platforms.
- Analyze real-time data to identify potential issues such as pest infestations, spoilage risks, or equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions remotely.
- Maintain accurate digital records of grain intake, out-loading, inventory levels, and quality parameters across all assigned silos.
- Coordinate remotely with on-site logistics teams, contractors, and quality control personnel for efficient grain movement and sampling.
- Develop and implement remote preventative maintenance schedules and protocols for silo equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) regulations through remote oversight and reporting.
- Generate comprehensive operational reports on silo performance, grain quality, and inventory status for management.
- Participate in the development and improvement of remote monitoring and control systems.
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to on-site personnel when required.
- Conduct virtual inspections and audits to maintain high standards of grain storage and handling.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SCADA systems and other remote monitoring software for industrial/agricultural applications.
- Strong understanding of grain science, storage principles, and quality control.
- Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues remotely.
- Exceptional communication and coordination skills for remote team collaboration.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
