Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote General Farm Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. While the traditional image of a farm worker involves on-site physical labour, this unique remote role focuses on the critical administrative, logistical, and coordination aspects that support our extensive farming operations across various sites. Key Responsibilities
- Remotely monitor and analyze data from farm sensors, IoT devices, and drone imagery to assess crop health, livestock conditions, and equipment status.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive farm records, including planting schedules, harvest data, input usage (fertilizers, pesticides), and livestock records.
- Coordinate the procurement and delivery of farm inputs (seeds, feed, chemicals, equipment parts) with suppliers and on-site managers.
- Develop and manage inventory systems for farm supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Assist in the remote planning and scheduling of farming activities, such as planting, irrigation, harvesting, and livestock movements.
- Provide remote support and troubleshooting for basic farm technology and software systems.
- Communicate regularly with on-site farm managers and teams to gather updates, address challenges, and provide operational guidance.
- Prepare reports on farm performance, resource consumption, and project progress for management review.
- Stay updated on agricultural market trends, weather forecasts, and regulatory changes, advising on potential impacts and adjustments.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of remote farm management strategies and efficiency improvements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an agricultural setting, even if primarily on-site previously.
- Strong understanding of general farming practices, crop cycles, and livestock management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of coordinating with remote teams.
