Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote General Dealer Manager to oversee our vital operations within the Van Zylsrus region of the Northern Cape. This unique remote role requires a seasoned retail professional who can effectively manage and optimize the performance of our general dealer outlets without being physically present daily. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving sales growth, maintaining high customer service standards, and implementing company policies across your assigned stores. The successful candidate will leverage technology and strong communication skills to lead local teams, monitor stock, manage finances, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Remotely manage and supervise the daily operations of assigned general dealer stores within the Van Zylsrus region, ensuring adherence to OK Foods standards and policies.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, optimize profitability, and control operational costs through effective remote monitoring and team guidance.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock ordering, rotation, and loss prevention, utilizing remote systems and regular reporting from store teams.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered across all managed outlets by providing training, setting performance expectations, and addressing customer feedback remotely.
- Manage and mentor local store teams, conducting performance reviews, providing ongoing coaching, and fostering a positive and productive work environment through virtual interactions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and local customer needs to recommend and implement relevant product assortments and promotional strategies.
- Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are met, and all legal and company compliance requirements are strictly followed.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and sales data to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic decision-making.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in retail or general dealer operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams remotely, with proficiency in virtual communication and collaboration tools.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L management, and sales analysis.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally to store locations within the region.
- In-depth understanding of the retail landscape and consumer behavior in rural South Africa.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Experience managing multiple retail outlets or a regional portfolio.
- Knowledge of local supplier networks and community engagement practices in the Northern Cape.
