Wildebraam Berry Estate is seeking a highly meticulous and detail-oriented Remote Fruit Packer to join our vibrant team. While the title traditionally implies hands-on physical packing, this unique remote role focuses on the critical oversight, quality assurance, and administrative components essential to our fruit packing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote visual inspections of packed fruit batches via live camera feeds and high-resolution images to ensure strict adherence to quality standards, including fruit size, ripeness, colour, and overall packaging integrity.
- Monitor and verify digital packing records, ensuring accurate data entry for inventory management, batch tracking, dispatch logs, and traceability.
- Coordinate proactively with on-site packing supervisors and teams to address any discrepancies, quality concerns, or process inefficiencies identified during remote monitoring.
- Manage and update digital labelling information, ensuring full compliance with all local and international regulatory requirements and product specifications.
- Generate comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports on packing efficiency, quality metrics, waste reduction, and inventory levels for management review.
- Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of remote quality control protocols and best practices for fruit packing processes.
- Provide essential administrative support for packing schedules, logistics coordination, and material requisition based on dynamic production forecasts.
- Participate actively in virtual team meetings to discuss operational improvements, address challenges, and contribute to continuous process enhancement.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of all product specifications, packing guidelines, and customer requirements.
- Ensure all remote data handling, storage, and reporting comply strictly with company data protection and privacy policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a quality control, administrative, or inventory management role within a production or agricultural environment.
