Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert remote technical support and troubleshooting for complex electrical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical faults and issues remotely using available schematics, diagrams, and remote monitoring tools.
- Guide on-site technicians and clients through installation, maintenance, and repair procedures via virtual channels.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and review of electrical projects, including material specification and system design.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge bases, and best practices.
- Conduct virtual training sessions for field personnel on new equipment, safety protocols, and advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product development teams to provide valuable field feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety standards (e.g., SANS 10142), and company policies in all remote consultations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to urgent technical inquiries, minimizing downtime for clients and operations.
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools for remote electrical layout and schematic reviews when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Electrician with relevant trade certifications (e.g., Wireman's Licence).
- Exceptional understanding of electrical systems, wiring, control panels, motor controls, and industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong remote diagnostic and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective technical guidance and documentation.
