Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote diagnostic support and technical guidance to on-site technicians and service advisors across the Motus network.
- Interpret complex diagnostic trouble codes and analyze vehicle data to identify root causes of mechanical and electrical faults.
- Assist in troubleshooting intricate vehicle systems, including engine management, transmission, braking, HVAC, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
- Review repair orders and service reports, offering expert recommendations for effective and efficient repairs.
- Develop and share technical bulletins, best practices, and diagnostic procedures to improve overall service quality.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide virtual training sessions on new vehicle technologies or diagnostic techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to address recurring issues and provide field feedback.
- Utilize remote diagnostic tools, software, and communication platforms to deliver timely and accurate support.
- Maintain detailed records of diagnostic consultations and resolutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified Auto Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
- Proven expertise in advanced automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle electrical systems, engine management, and data analysis.
- Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and software (e.g., VCDS, ODIS, Techstream, ISTA).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with various digital communication and collaboration tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Certification or equivalent recognized automotive technician qualification.
- OEM-specific diagnostic certifications (e.g., VW, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz).
- Experience with fleet management systems or heavy vehicle diagnostics.
- Previous experience in a technical support, mentorship, or training role.
