Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote analysis of crop health using satellite imagery, drone data, and other remote sensing technologies.
- Develop and implement data-driven precision agriculture strategies for optimized resource allocation (water, nutrients).
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on soil fertility, irrigation scheduling, and nutrient management programs.
- Diagnose and provide solutions for pest, disease, and weed management remotely, utilizing integrated pest management (IPM) principles.
- Interpret complex agricultural data, including yield maps, soil samples, and weather forecasts, to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate virtually with farm managers and field teams to ensure the effective adoption of agronomic recommendations.
- Develop and deliver virtual training and educational materials for growers and farm personnel on best agricultural practices.
- Stay abreast of the latest agricultural research, technologies, and industry trends, integrating new knowledge into strategies.
- Generate comprehensive reports and presentations detailing findings, recommendations, and projected outcomes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an agronomic role, preferably in a remote advisory capacity.
- Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Agremo, FieldView).
