Biffa Waste Services is seeking dedicated Refuse Collectors / Waste Operatives to join our dynamic team in Manchester, Greater Manchester. Key Responsibilities
- Collect various types of waste (household, commercial, recycling) from designated routes in Manchester.
- Operate refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) compacting mechanisms and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load waste materials onto the collection vehicle as directed by the driver.
- Assist the driver with safe maneuvering and reversing of the vehicle, acting as a 'banksman' when required.
- Ensure all waste is collected in accordance with scheduled routes and company procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Interact professionally and courteously with members of the public and colleagues.
- Report any issues, hazards, or incidents promptly to the team leader or supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle cab and immediate working area.
- Participate in daily team briefings and debriefings.

- Excellent physical fitness and stamina for demanding manual work.
