Farnek Services LLC is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Refrigerator Technician to join our dynamic and expanding technical team in Dubai. In this critical and hands-on role, you will be primarily responsible for the expert installation, meticulous maintenance, accurate diagnosis, and efficient repair of various types of refrigeration systems across our extensive and diverse client portfolio. This includes a wide array of settings such as residential properties, commercial establishments (restaurants, supermarkets), and light industrial facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic tests on a wide range of refrigeration units, including chillers, freezers, cold rooms, and commercial refrigerators, to accurately identify malfunctions and system failures.
- Execute precise repairs, replacements, and installations of critical refrigeration components, such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, motors, expansion valves, and electrical controls.
- Conduct thorough routine preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial and residential refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance, extend equipment lifespan, and comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Safely charge and recover refrigerants in compliance with local environmental regulations and international safety standards, including proper handling and disposal.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to accurately diagnose issues, guide repair processes, and ensure correct component installation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, hours spent, issues resolved, and recommendations for future service.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding system status, recommended repair options, preventative measures, and estimated timelines.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and industry safety regulations (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry) at all times.
- Provide emergency on-call support as part of a rotating schedule to address critical refrigeration failures outside of standard working hours.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in refrigeration technologies, energy efficiency solutions, and best practices through continuous learning and training.
Required Skills
- Proven technical expertise and hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various refrigeration systems (e.g., HVAC-R, commercial refrigeration).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for complex mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant circuit faults.
- Proficiency in using a variety of specialized hand and power tools, manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, and other refrigeration-specific equipment.
- Solid understanding of electrical wiring diagrams, control systems, and safety devices within refrigeration units.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction, team collaboration, and clear reporting.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and withstand varying environmental conditions (hot/cold).
- Strict commitment to safety protocols and adherence to all health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or certification (e.g., ITI, Diploma) in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology or a related field.
- Certification in refrigerant handling (e.g., UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment certification or international equivalent).
- Valid UAE driving license with a clean record.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) integration for refrigeration units.
- Familiarity with various commercial and industrial refrigeration brands and models (e.g., Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, Copeland).
