Job Description
Are you seeking a life close to nature, away from the hustle and bustle, with the opportunity to learn valuable skills from the ground up? Career.supersecrets is excited to present an exceptional opening for a dedicated and enthusiastic Ranch Hand to join a thriving private estate nestled in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, just a short distance from Middlesbrough. This is a unique chance for individuals with no prior experience in ranching or farming to immerse themselves in a rewarding outdoor lifestyle. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a genuine love for animals, and a proactive attitude ready to contribute to the daily operations of a diverse rural property. This estate prides itself on sustainable practices and maintaining its natural beauty, offering a truly unique work environment.
As a Ranch Hand, you will be an integral part of a small, supportive team, responsible for the general upkeep and smooth running of the estate. Your days will be incredibly varied, ranging from hands-on animal care (including feeding, watering, mucking out, and monitoring health for a variety of livestock such as sheep, chickens, and potentially horses) and grounds maintenance (such as hedge trimming, path clearing, and garden upkeep) to assisting with various agricultural tasks as seasons dictate. This role offers unparalleled on-the-job training, allowing you to develop expertise in livestock management, basic machinery operation (tractors, quad bikes – training provided), fencing installation and repair, general gardening, and essential estate maintenance. We value commitment, reliability, and a willingness to learn above all else, providing all necessary guidance and support. If you’re physically fit, adaptable, enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, and are eager to make a tangible contribution to a picturesque environment, this could be your ideal career start and a fantastic foundation for a future in rural management.
The role comes with the added benefit of comfortable, on-site accommodation, providing a convenient living arrangement within the stunning rural landscape. This means you can fully dedicate yourself to the role without the typical concerns of commuting or finding suitable housing, allowing for a truly immersive experience. This position is perfect for someone looking for a significant life change, a return to nature, or an entry into agricultural work within a supportive framework. We foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every day brings new learning opportunities and challenges. Come and be a part of an initiative that values hard work, offers a true sense of accomplishment, and allows you to grow professionally while enjoying the peace and beauty of the North Yorkshire countryside.
