Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including general radiography (X-rays), according to established protocols.
  • Accurately position patients for imaging studies, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort/safety.
  • Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
  • Verify patient identity, review physician orders, and obtain relevant patient history.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns or questions, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and be prepared to respond to medical emergencies.
  • Ensure the safety of patients and staff by adhering to radiation protection standards and ALARA principles.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality, proper labeling, and accurate anatomical representation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and enter data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Participate in quality control activities and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Skills

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Active Radiologic Technologist license in the State of Georgia.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in operating various radiographic equipment and imaging techniques.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Experience with multiple imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI) or a desire to cross-train.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Advanced certifications in specialized areas of radiography.
