Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including general radiography (X-rays), according to established protocols.
- Accurately position patients for imaging studies, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort/safety.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, troubleshooting minor issues as needed.
- Verify patient identity, review physician orders, and obtain relevant patient history.
- Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns or questions, ensuring a positive experience.
- Monitor patients during procedures and be prepared to respond to medical emergencies.
- Ensure the safety of patients and staff by adhering to radiation protection standards and ALARA principles.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, proper labeling, and accurate anatomical representation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and enter data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Participate in quality control activities and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Active Radiologic Technologist license in the State of Georgia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in operating various radiographic equipment and imaging techniques.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Experience with multiple imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI) or a desire to cross-train.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Advanced certifications in specialized areas of radiography.
