You will be expected to provide expert advice on contractual matters, identify and mitigate commercial risks, and maintain robust financial control systems. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders and contracts.
- Perform risk and value management and cost control throughout projects.
- Advise on procurement strategies, ensuring value for money.
- Administer contract terms and conditions, including valuations, variations, and claims.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with contractors and clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on contractual disputes and commercial issues.
- Contribute to project planning and strategy meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance against budgets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT, NEC).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and commercial management software.
- Ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions.
- High level of commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Valid UK driving license (desirable for site visits).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards it.
