Job Description
We are seeking a highly diligent and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join a reputable manufacturing client in Preston, Lancashire. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify product compliance.
- Document inspection results accurately, maintaining detailed records of acceptable and defective products, and creating non-conformance reports when necessary.
- Identify, isolate, and report defective materials or products, collaborating with production and engineering teams to investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform first-off and final inspection checks on manufactured goods, ensuring adherence to quality standards throughout the production cycle.
- Participate in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within the manufacturing facility.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment (minimum 2 years).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Competence in using a wide range of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
