Job Description
Seprod Limited is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our dynamic food production team in Kingston, Jamaica. This vital role is at the forefront of ensuring that all our food products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance from raw material reception through to finished goods. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and consumer trust. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, performing various tests, and diligently documenting your findings to guarantee that every product leaving our facility adheres to Seprod’s stringent quality specifications and international food safety standards, including HACCP, GMPs, and ISO protocols.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to established quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct physical, chemical, and microbiological tests on food samples using standard laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and other process parameters to ensure compliance with HACCP plans and food safety regulations.
- Accurately document all inspection results, test data, and observations, maintaining detailed records for traceability and audit purposes.
- Identify and report non-conforming products or processes promptly, initiating hold procedures as necessary.
- Investigate the root causes of quality issues and collaborate with production and technical teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other relevant food safety regulations.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures and standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, safety, and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP, GMPs).
- Proficiency in performing laboratory tests and using standard QC equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical documents and specifications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy, including experience with data entry and basic office software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
- 2+ years of experience in a Quality Control role within the food manufacturing industry.
- HACCP certification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 standards.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
