Job Description
As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer at NCSOFT, you will be a critical part of our engineering team, dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality for our innovative games and digital platforms. Your primary mission will be to design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and comprehensive test suites, seamlessly integrating them into our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can identify potential issues early in the development lifecycle, significantly enhancing the efficiency, stability, and reliability of our software releases. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust automated test scripts and frameworks for web, mobile, and desktop applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing, delivery, and rapid feedback loops.
- Execute automated test suites, analyze results, identify defects, and report them with clear, concise, and reproducible steps.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand product features, requirements, and technical specifications.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing expert insights on testability, quality risks, and automation strategies.
- Drive the adoption of industry best practices in test automation and contribute to the continuous improvement of our overall QA processes and tools.
- Perform manual testing when necessary, especially for exploratory testing, usability testing, or complex scenarios that are not easily automatable.
- Mentor junior QA team members and share knowledge to foster a culture of quality and technical excellence.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Strong experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or Pytest.
- Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including Agile development environments.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and concepts (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for automated build and test deployments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience with performance, security, or load testing tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience in the gaming industry or with large-scale, high-performance distributed systems.
- Familiarity with various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger).
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level certification in Software Testing.
