Job Description

Are you a dedicated and hands-on individual with a strong work ethic, looking to contribute to the development of your community? Masego Projects, a leading name in South African civil engineering and construction, is seeking a motivated Public Works Laborer to join our team in Heilbron, Free State. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that builds and maintains the essential infrastructure vital for our local communities. As a Public Works Laborer, you will play a crucial role in various infrastructure projects, ranging from road maintenance and stormwater drainage to public amenity upgrades and general construction support. Your work will directly impact the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of Heilbron.

This is a hybrid role, requiring a balance of time spent at our local depot for equipment preparation, team briefings, and administrative tasks, alongside significant time deployed on various project sites across Heilbron and its surrounding areas. This dual environment ensures you have access to resources and team support while actively engaging in the practical application of your skills outdoors. You will report to our local facility for daily briefings and task assignments, collect necessary tools and materials, and then proceed to designated work sites. Some days might involve extensive field work, such as digging trenches, laying pipes, or repairing potholes, while others could focus on maintenance and preparation at the depot, ensuring equipment is cleaned, stored, and ready for deployment. This model offers the best of both worlds: structured team interaction and hands-on, impactful work in the community. You will be an integral part of ensuring that Heilbron’s public spaces and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing for all its residents. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is physically capable, and committed to upholding the highest safety standards. You will work under the supervision of experienced foremen, learning valuable skills and contributing to projects that enhance the quality of life for residents. If you are eager to learn, not afraid of hard work, and passionate about making a tangible difference, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of the Masego Projects family.
