Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic public relations campaigns to enhance BT Group's brand reputation and public image.
- Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, speeches, articles, and other communications materials, ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, industry influencers, and key stakeholders.
- Monitor media coverage, analyze PR campaign effectiveness, and report on outcomes, providing actionable insights.
- Coordinate and facilitate media interviews, press conferences, and other public engagements.
- Prepare spokespeople for media appearances, including developing key messages and comprehensive briefing materials.
- Manage crisis communications and develop rapid response strategies when necessary, protecting the company's reputation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, legal, and product development, to ensure consistent and integrated messaging.
- Support the development and execution of social media PR strategies to amplify company news and initiatives.
- Research and identify emerging trends and opportunities in the media and telecommunications landscape to inform PR efforts.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a public relations or communications role, preferably within a large organization or agency.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong storytelling ability.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong media relationships and secure positive coverage.
- Solid understanding of the media landscape, including traditional, digital, and social media channels.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and analytics tools to track performance and inform strategy.
