APCO Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Policy Advisor to join our dynamic team in Dubai. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of public policy issues, legislative proposals, and regulatory developments relevant to client interests in the UAE and MENA region.
- Develop and implement strategic public policy engagement plans, including stakeholder mapping, outreach strategies, and advocacy campaigns.
- Advise clients on potential policy impacts on their business operations, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality policy briefs, position papers, presentations, and other communication materials for diverse audiences, including government officials, industry associations, and media.
- Represent clients in meetings with government officials, regulators, industry bodies, and other key stakeholders, fostering constructive relationships.
- Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory developments, providing timely updates and strategic insights to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with APCO's communications, digital, and market research teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience in public policy, government relations, strategic consulting, or a related field in the UAE or wider MENA region.
- Demonstrated understanding of the UAE's governmental structures, legislative processes, and regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to conduct rigorous policy research and analysis, extracting key insights and formulating strategic advice.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and concisely.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities with government officials and industry leaders.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Political Science, Law, Economics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a government ministry/agency or an international organization in the UAE.
- Background in specific sectors such as technology, healthcare, energy, or finance.
- Familiarity with international policy frameworks and their implications for the UAE.
- Proven track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes or contributing to significant public policy initiatives.
