Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior estimators in preparing detailed cost estimates for various construction and building service projects.
- Conduct thorough research on material costs, labour rates, and equipment expenses to ensure accurate pricing.
- Review and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and compile comprehensive bills of quantities.
- Support the tender process by helping to compile competitive bid proposals and necessary documentation.
- Maintain and update a robust database of past project costs, market rates, and supplier information.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and suppliers to gather essential information for estimates.
- Learn and apply industry-standard estimation software and tools under expert supervision.
- Attend occasional site visits to gain practical understanding of project requirements and on-site conditions.
- Prepare clear summary reports and presentations of estimated costs for internal review and client communication.
Required Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with a comfort working with figures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, formulas, basic functions).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external interactions.
- High level of motivation, proactivity, and a demonstrable eagerness to learn and develop.
- Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- A-Levels (or equivalent) in Maths, Science, or a technical subject.
